Phi Delta Chi makes Annual Donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

The Beta Lambda chapter of Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity recently celebrated its annual End of the Year Banquet. As part of the evening festivities, the chapter presented a donation of $3,448 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. During the 2015-16 academic year, the Beta Lambda chapter held several fundraising events under the direction of the Philanthropy Chair Ashley Calderin.
In 1995, Phi Delta Chi adopted St. Jude as its national philanthropic partner. In 2007, Phi Delta Chi began its first targeted letter-writing campaign called “The Prescription for Hope.” Through this campaign Phi Delta Chi pledged to raise $200,000 over 4 years. In April of 2009, Phi Delta Chi met that goal and St. Jude named the outpatient pharmacy located on the first floor of the Patient Care Center in gratitude of Phi Delta Chi. Phi Delta Chi’s new pledge of contributing $1 million towards the naming of an inpatient room with an adjoining parent room in the Patient Care Center by 2020 is currently at the halfway mark.
