Pharmacy Students Featured in American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Publication

NSU College of Pharmacy students at Cleveland Clinic.

Nova Southeastern University’s College of Pharmacy (COP) Clinical Assistant Professor Jaime Riskin, Pharm.D., BCPS; and Antonia Zapantis, MS, PharmD, BCPS, COP associate professor, as well as COP alumni Osmel Delgado, Pharm.D, BCPS; Martha Espinoza-Friedman, Pharm.D., BCPS; and Lori Milicevic, Pharm.D., BCNP were featured for the Pharmacy Practice Model Change implemented at Cleveland Clinic Florida incorporating advanced pharmacy practice students from NSU’s COP.

Prior to utilizing pharmacy students as pharmacy extenders, providing all patients at the Cleveland Clinic Florida with the opportunity to interact with pharmacists as part of their care seemed like an unobtainable goal. Adding medication histories and reconciliation, as well as discharge medication counseling seemed like a herculean task. Now patients and students benefit from this learning experience.  Please click on the link below to view the story and full article:
