Pharmacy Alumnus Introduces Free Children’s Vitamin Program

Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy alumnus Eddy Blanco, Pharm.D., class of 2002, recently introduced a free children’s vitamin program through his family-owned pharmacy VH Pharmacy.

VH Pharmacy has provided prescription and patient care services for the past 40 years with the help of Blanco and brother, Danny Blanco. As they continue to reach out and give to their community, VH Pharmacy launches their newest and most expansive project yet, The Free Children’s Vitamin Program. This program involves offering a free 30-day supply of chew-able multivitamins to children up to age 12 in the immediate community. No purchase is necessary, and those who are of age will be able to receive the vitamins for up to one full year for free.

Maintaining a well-balanced diet full of the required daily vitamins allows children to receive the proper nutrients needed to stay healthy and disease free. Unfortunately, most children have poor eating habits and do not eat the many vegetables and fruits needed to maintain proper nutrition. In addition, eating healthy can be very costly, which has led to a society that is dependent on fast food and quick, easy meals. Vitamins are really the best and easiest way to reverse this cycle.

All you need to do is visit the pharmacy in person and fill out an in-take form for administrative and tracking purposes only.  VH Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.  For more information on VH Pharmacy and their Free Children’s Vitamin Program, please visit the pharmacy at 1000 SW 1st Street in Miami.  You can also call (305) 324- 8777 or you can visit www.VHpharmacyRx.com.
