Performing and Visual Arts Class of 2011 Alumni: Where Are They Now?
Alex Glamyan, who graduated from NSU in May with a B.A. in Music, received a fellowship to pursue an M.F.A. in Theatre Sound Design at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
Many graduates from the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts move on to professional positions and graduate programs in their respective fields, while others explore careers outside of the arts. Here is an update on a few of the division’s alumni from the class of 2011:
- Alex Glamyan, B.A. in Music, received the prestigious Stern Fellowship for Theatre Sound Design at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Glamyan will attend the university to pursue an M.F.A. degree in Theater Sound Design. The fellowship includes a tuition waiver and stipend.
- Brittanny Gooden, B.A. in Theatre, attended the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City this summer. While at NSU, Gooden interned with The Promethean Theatre and was also nominated for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival’s Irene Ryan Scholarship for her work in NSU’s Wonder of the World production (2010).
- Jody-Ann Henry, B.A. in Theatre, is attending the University of Louisville, pursuing an M.F.A. in Acting. While at NSU, Henry interned with The Promethean Theatre and the Mosaic Theatre. She was also nominated for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival’s Irene Ryan Scholarship for her work in Wonder of the World (2010). This past summer, Henry worked as a stagehand at the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina.
- Erica del Pozo, B.A. in Dance, began attending NSU’s graduate program in Occupational Therapy this fall.
- Sabrina Talamo, B.A. in Dance, is pursuing an M.F.A. in Dance at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. Talamo was named the division’s Outstanding Student in dance in winter 2011.
