Performances of Dance and Theatre Take Center Stage at Festival of Student Works Apr. 30

The NSU community is invited to a showcase of student works in dance and theatre as the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts presents its annual Festival of Student Works.

The festival, which is part of the college’s Studio Series, will begin with a presentation of dance works performed and choreographed by dance students from the division at 7 p.m. on Apr. 30 in the Performance Theatre of the college’s Performing and Visual Arts Wing in the Don Taft University Center.

Immediately following, at 8 p.m., will be the fourth annual showcase of Student-Directed One-Acts in the Black Box Theatre of the Performing and Visual Arts Wing. The one-acts are short scenes directed by students enrolled in the college’s Directing for the Stage theatre course.

The division will present an encore of the performances on May 1 at the same times and locations.

Admission to the Festival of Student Works is free, but is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, contact Lindsay Bartels, in the Division of Performing and Visual Arts, at (954) 262-7620.

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts presents outstanding theatrical, musical, and dance productions throughout the academic year. These performances serve as co-curricular opportunities for students to gain practical experience in performance and technical production. The college also offers undergraduate majors in theatre, art, arts administration, dance, and music. For more information, visit www.fcas.nova.edu/performingarts.
