Panel Discussion – Research and Development: Concerning Belonging
June 7, 2014 | 2-4:00pm
South Florida artists Tom Scicluna, Rick Ulysse, Natasha Lopez de Victoria, Agustina Woodgate, and Antonia Wright will discuss the Museum’s new Research and Development residency program that provides artists with essential time and resources to further their work and apply their creativity to social issues. Throughout the summer, the five artists will have temporary studios in the museum’s second floor galleries where they will create works addressing issues of homelessness and belonging. The artists will also lead workshops in collaboration with the Broward Partnership, which operates the Central Homeless Assistance Center, a local shelter for the homeless. NSU Museum of Art Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater and the Museum’s Exhibition Designer and Chief Preparator, Luke Jenkins will moderate the discussion.
