Palm Beach County Superintendent Gent to be Speaker at NSU Open House, July 23

E. Wayne Gent

Palm Beach County School Superintendent E. Wayne Gent, M.Ed., will speak at NSU’s Palm Beach Open House on July 23.  Gent will speak on “The State of Education in the U.S., State of Florida, and Palm Beach County.”

NSU’s Open House, which is free and open to the public, will also provide attendees with information about the various health, education, business, and psychology programs NSU Palm Beach offers.

“We are honored to have Superintendent Gent be our guest speaker at our Open House,” said George Dungee, M.B.A., director of NSU’s Palm Beach Student Educational Center.  “His topic will be of interest to educators, business people, and every resident of Palm Beach County.”

E. Wayne Gent, M.Ed., has led The School District of Palm Beach County as superintendent since November 2011. A dedicated educator of over the past thirty years, he has served as teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. In 1996, he was selected by the Florida Commissioner of Education to serve as the State’s Principal in Residence. Since 2000, he has assumed increasing responsibility in leadership positions within the Palm Beach County School District, which included Area Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Learning Support, and Chief Officer of Administration.

Attendees at the Open House can expect admissions counselors to be on hand answering questions about scholarships, grants, the financial aid process, admission requirements, and deadlines.  They will also provide information about the various bachelor’s, master’s, specialists, and doctoral programs that NSU Palm Beach offers.
