Outstanding NSU Psychology Students Inducted into National Honor Society
On Nov. 28, the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences hosted an induction ceremony for the Psi Chi national honor society in recognition of the academic accomplishments of psychology students at NSU. Approximately, 150 undergraduate and graduate students from the college and NSU’s Center for Psychological Studies became Psi Chi members.
Welcoming new inductees were Jose Luis Martinez Serrano, Psi Chi chapter president, and faculty adviser Weylin Sternglanz, Ph.D., associate professor at the college. The ceremony also included a keynote talk, an annual tradition of the NSU Psi Chi induction ceremony, delivered this year by Timothy Razza, Psy.D., assistant professor at the college.
The new Psi Chi members were then inducted by members of the 2012–2013 Psi Chi Executive Board, including Serrano, vice president Giovanni Landauro, recording secretary Francesca Armagno, distance student secretary Brittany Santana, and bulletin board director Laurie Cruz. Sarah Silverman, who serves as head graduate liaison, was unable to attend.
Following the induction ceremony, the Psi Chi members joined friends, family members, faculty, and members of college administration for a celebratory reception.
