Optometry Student Chosen as National Fellow
The American Optometric Foundation (AOF) has announced the 2011 class of AOF-Carl Zeiss Fellows. This fifth year of Fellows consists of students selected from the schools and colleges of optometry and represents individuals demonstrating potential for strong leadership in independent practice. Of the 18 Fellows chosen from across the country, one of them is fourth-year student See S. Vang from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry.
Chosen from 22 colleges of optometry across the United States and Canada, Vang joins a group of individuals of the highest standard in the optometric profession who are considered AOF-Carl Zeiss Fellows. Sponsored by Carl Zeiss and administered by the AOF, the Fellowships honor outstanding achievement by third-year optometry students. Each Fellowship includes a $5,000 award made directly to the financial aid office at the student’s college to offset the fourth-year of optometric education.
