Former Optometry Faculty Member to Receive Posthumous Award



Lester E. Janoff



The American Academy of Optometry has announced the recipients of the various awards for distinguished individuals in optometry for 2012. Recognized for their consistent contribution to the advancement of the profession, 2012’s award recipients, the Awards of the Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses & Refractive Technologies include Lester E. Janoff, O.D., M.S.E.D., F.A.A.O. (posthumously), Founders’ Award. Janoff was a distinguished faculty member at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry.  The winners will be recognized at the 2012 American Optometric Association Academy in Phoenix, Arizona on Oct. 26 and at the Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies Symposium.

He continues to be honored as one of the visionaries of optometry and his legacy is eternal.   Janoff shared his experience, wisdom and passion with his students, patients and peers. Let’s join in extending congratulations to Andrea Janoff O.D. and her family as they receive this award on his behalf.
