Realizing Potential: Sherman Library announces Opening of The Craig and Barbara Weiner Holocaust Reflection and Resource Room
Let us Never Forget!
The Alvin Sherman Library is pleased to announce the opening of The Craig and Barbara Weiner Holocaust Reflection and Resource Room located on the 2nd Floor, Room 2005. The room has been a heartfelt vision of theirs for years. Craig and Barbara have always felt that the best way for our current and future generations to learn the importance of having greater respect for one another, and greater tolerance for our fellow humankind, is though Holocaust education. The couple has developed several educational initiatives including, amongst others, the Holocaust Learning and Education Fund, Inc.’s annual Holocaust Reflection Contest for Florida middle and high schools with partner Nova Southeastern University.
For those visiting this room, their mission is to:
REMIND – us of the deadliest genocide in history – done by humans to humans.
REMEMBER – and honor the six million Jewish children, men and women who perished.
REFLECT – on our moral conscience, our individual responsibility and role in making for a better future.
Through your visit to this Room, and seeing and understanding what results from hate, let us all learn to be better people and think more carefully when making our daily life choices.
“We hope you entered this room a kind person…..
We hope you leave this room a kinder one. “
Craig and Barbara Weiner
