Office of Undergraduate Admissions Hosts Dual Admission & Honors Program Expo
Prospective undergraduate students with strong academic backgrounds from across the country attended the Dual Admission and Honors Program Expo on Feb. 11.
The day kicked off with an inspiring welcome by Dean Rosenblum followed by a series of presentations held in the Carl DeSantis Building. The presentations included a panel of current NSU students and faculty involved in the Dual Admission and Honors Programs at NSU. The panelists shared their experiences, offered guidance, and answered questions from prospective students. Immediately following the presentations, admission counselors provided detailed information on all the academic programs offered at NSU, instructions on how to apply, and discussed various financial aid options offered at the university.
Tours were offered to prospective students who were interested in exploring the campus further. Guests had the option to choose between a tour of the main campus’ traditional undergraduate facilities or an in-depth look inside the Terry Building, one of NSU’s main facilities where graduate medical students practice their craft. The regular campus tour, led by undergraduate Student Ambassadors, took guests through the University Center, into the residence halls, around Gold Circle Lake, and through the Alvin Sherman Library. Students who toured the Health Professions Division were taken by shuttle to the Terry Building and met by current graduate students. The graduate students offered insight on how they study, work hand in hand with faculty, and participate in a variety of lab simulations. One group of visitors even had the opportunity to hear the heartbeat of a mannequin within a simulation lab!
