Office of Undergraduate Admissions Brings Future Sharks to Campus

Joey Jankie, Associate Director of Health Professions Division Admissions, and his daughter, Stephanie, enjoy the program during the Scholarship Reception.

Approximately 150 future NSU Sharks and their families attended the Scholarship Reception on Saturday, Apr. 28 at the Don Taft University Center. The Scholarship Reception, hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, is an annual event to welcome the incoming Fall class.

The day began with a morning brunch followed by a ceremony to recognize the students in attendance on their strong academic achievements. Stephanie Brown, Ed.D., vice president of Enrollment and Student Services, opened the ceremony by welcoming the students and their families to campus and shared some of the many benefits of attending NSU.

NSU President George Hanbury II, Ph.D., continued the opening remarks by expressing his appreciation for each student’s hard work and congratulated the parents on raising their children with a strong focus on succeeding in school. Guests were then treated to the “We Believe in NSU” video presentation followed by two current students who shared their experiences as NSU students.

The Scholarship Reception concluded with a musical performance by the NSU Vocal Ensemble and closing remarks by Brown.

The NSU Honor Award Scholarship ranges from $1,000 – $9,000 and is based on a student’s grade point average and test scores. For a complete list of upcoming events hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, visit www.nova.edu/admissions/visitcampus.
