Obando and Ivanovic Rise in Latest ITA National Poll

Daniela Obando and Andrea Ivanovic of the No. 29 Nova Southeastern women’s tennis team have skyrocketed in the doubles ranking to the No. 6 doubles team in the country as announced by the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) on Wednesday night.

With a 9-4 record and averaging 34.86 points, the top-pair for the Sharks jump 19 spots from the previous poll that was released on Mar. 21. The only teams in the region ranked higher the Sharks are Lynn’s pair of Diana Bogolii and Jan Abaza, who sit on top of the rankings while West Florida’s Jordana Lujan and Paula Coyos are ranked at No. 5.

Obando and Ivanovic defeated the West Florida pair, 8-6 on Mar. 8 and will likely face Bogolii and Abaza when the Sharks square off against Lynn in Boca Raton on Apr. 5.
