Christian Guzman, an undergraduate nursing student at NSU’s Miami Student Educational Center (SEC), was recently honored by the Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon held in Homestead. Guzman received the Student of the Quarter award for post-secondary institutions. His outstanding academic background earned him a spot in the Baptist Health Scholars Program at NSU Miami where, during his free time, Christian provides his fellow classmates with complimentary tutoring while also assisting in Learning Enhancement Seminars (LES). He is the treasurer of NSU’s community service organization, Living for Life and is enrolled in a peer mentoring program at the NSU Miami SEC which guides new students transitioning into nursing school. A mainstay at NSU’s Health Fair, Guzman participates every year in the American Heart Association Heart Walk.
