NSU’s Technology Procedures for Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma is a large and powerful storm due to be near South Florida around Friday evening. In preparation for the upcoming storm, OIIT would ask you please assess the technology around you and prepare now for what is coming. When and if the university announces its closing, we ask that you shut down your computers (and any standalone printers) and cover if possible with a plastic bag before you leave on the last day. Plastic bags will be provided by Facilities, any questions please contact 954-262-8800.

OIIT will be taking care of remotely shutting down all lab computers, podium teaching stations and all non-essential campus servers after the university has closed. In accordance with our emergency preparedness plan, OIIT staff will ensure that all systems are up and running (except your workstation) prior to the reopening after the storm passes.
