NSU’s Swimming & Diving Teams Dominate Rollins in Winter Park

rp_primary_DSC_5879After having two weeks to prepare, the NSU’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams went head-to-head in Sunshine State Conference competition at Rollins. The women’s team (3-0) continued their winning streak by topping the Tars 119-86, while the men’s team (2-1) got back on the winning track with a dominating 173-32 victory.

Combined, the NSU men and women won 18 of the 22 events during the meet. The women’s team started the day by taking the top two spots in the women’s 200-yard medley relay. Emma Wahlstrom (Fr., Stockholm, Sweden), Ashley Bransford (Sr., Santa Cruz, Aruba), Laura Gutierrez (Fr., Valencia, Spain) and Alexandra Zatylny (Sr., Quebec, Canada) combined for the top spot with a time of 1:51.72, while the Sharks’ B-relay squad finished second at 1:55.35.
