NSU’s Northeast Florida & Southeast Georgia Alumni Chapter hosts Back 2 School Bash

NSU’s Northeast Florida Southeast Georgia alumni chapter kicked off the school year on Wednesday, September 17th with class and compassion. Alumni and friends met for a Back 2 School Bash at BlackFinn American Grille at the St John’s Town Center. The bash culminated a 3 week school supply drive that benefited the Duval County School Depot. Members donated several backpacks, notebooks, crayons and other new supplies. Teacher supply epresentatives from the School Depot attended the event and presented various projects previously made by volunteers and teachers.

The Depot not only accepts new school supplies, but also any materials that can assist the teachers and students in their classes. The representatives brought over samples of a cardboard fish made out of bottle caps, and a heart made out of bra straps.  Members exchanged cards with the depot and vouchers to provide any usable materials.  The event was a huge success, bringing in new members as well as giving familiar faces a chance to reconnect.
