NSU’s Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson Receives Prestigious ATHENA Leadership Award

Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Vice President of Advancement & Community Relations at Nova Southeastern University

The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches recently awarded Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Vice President of Advancement & Community Relations at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) with the 2017 ATHENA Leadership Award.

The ATHENA Leadership Awards honors exceptional individuals living and working in Palm Beach County. It honors individuals and organizations that are leaders in their field, have mentored women and given back to the community.  Each honoree is deeply committed to uplifting and empowering their workplaces and community through professional service initiatives.  The Chamber has been presenting this national award for the past 26 years.

Dr. O’Flannery Anderson is involved in numerous community initiatives and organizations including serving as chair of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance; vice president of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches; and serves as a board member of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, PACE Center for Girls and Winterfest.  She is also involved with Leadership Florida, Royal Dames of Cancer Research and Funding Arts Broward.  She has provided advocacy, guidance and professional support for female and minority students and staff members.  Through her initiatives, she has increased the number of minorities, including women, in professional and board positions.  Her long–standing involvement in economic development in Palm Beach and Broward Counties has been recognized through her positions on multiple councils and boards.

Dr. O’Flannery Anderson received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University; her master’s degree from the University of South Florida; and her doctoral degree from Florida Atlantic University
