NSU’s Interprofessional Diabetes Education and Awareness Program Offers Informational Workshops, Nov. 22

NSU’s Health Professions Division (HPD) is proud to announce a new series of diabetes management and prevention workshops for members of the community. Teams of students and faculty from several of the colleges within HPD have collaborated to create community workshops to educate residents of Broward and Miami-Dade counties through NSU’s Interprofessional Diabetes and Awareness (IDEA) program, which was founded in 2012. There are a variety of workshops covering different topics, including: power over diabetes, diabetes and medication management, diabetes and eye health, diabetes and children, diabetes and healthy eating, and diabetes and exercise. This year, the IDEA initiative is proud to announce that workshops will also be held in Spanish to reach even more members of the community. If you, or someone you know, would like to attend a free community workshop to be hosted at a local site, please email idea@nova.edu. Visit our website for more details: www.nova.edu/chcs/idea.

Workshop will be held at NSU’s main campus this semester for local community members and the NSU community.
