NSU’s Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship to Host Distinguished Lecture Series, Nov. 5

The Distinguished Lecture Series, offered annually by the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship, will continue on Thursday, Nov. 5 with guest speaker Joseph E. Farrell, Jr., president and chief executive officer, RESOLVE Marine Group, Inc. Farrell was recognized this past spring as an 2015 Entrepreneur Hall of Fame honoree.

The event will take place at 10:30 am in the college’s Huizenga Sales Institute, Carl DeSantis Building.

Joseph E. Farrell Jr. will speak about his journey from growing up in Boston and working as an outboard mechanic to building one of the most recognized salvage companies in the world, RESOLVE Marine Group.

Farrell, who has more than 45 years of experience in the maritime industry, leads a global marine services provider that specializes in vessel emergency response, ship rescue, salvage, maritime training, naval architecture and marine engineering. The company has extensive fleets strategically positioned with operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Gibraltar, China, Ireland, India and New Zealand.

After serving in the U.S. Navy diving school, Farrell then served as a U.S. Coast Guard explosives adviser in Vietnam. He spent four years recovering torpedoes after jumping from helicopters wearing scuba gear. The Seafarers’ House recently honored Farrell with its 2015 Golden Compass Award.
