Guy Harvey, Ph.D., renowned artist, marine conservationist and co-founder of the Guy Harvey Research Institute (GHRI) at NSU’s Oceanographic Center presented a $150,000 donation on behalf of the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation to the GHRI on May 7. The funds are for the continued operation of the marine conservation research that has become the hallmark of the GHRI. According to director of the GHRI and NSU genetics and conservation biology professor, Mahmood Shivji, Ph.D., the world-renowned research discoveries in shark biology and conservation made at NSU are directly the result of the long-standing generosity of the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and the strong, 10-year partnership between Guy Harvey and NSU.
