NSU’s Fischler College of Education Kappa Delta Pi Omega Theta Chapter 584 Collecting Books for Literacy Alive Book Drive
Community is one of NSU’s Core Values and members of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) Omega Theta Chapter 584 at NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education believe in giving back.
The organization is dedicated to promoting literacy and members collect books and school supplies for Title I School children in Florida and children in Haiti.
To begin its 2016-17 Book drive, NSU KDP collected more than 435 books and is partnering with Books for Africa to help put books on once-empty library shelves of several schools and in the hands of children who have never held a book.
Sandra Trotman, associate professor at the Fischler College of Education, and current Counselor of KDP, along with the chapter’s Literacy Alive coordinator, Terrie Gaskin-Bryant, coordinate the annual Literacy Alive project which includes the book drive.
For more information on the drive or to donate, please contact Sandra Trotman, Ph.D., at trotman@nova.edu.
