NSU’s Director of Public Affairs appointed to University of Florida’s Public Relations Advisory Council
Julie Spechler, Nova Southeastern University’s Director of Public Affairs, was recently appointed to the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications Public Relations Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is comprised of public relations and marketing professionals from around the nation in corporate, agency, and nonprofit positions. The Council’s purpose is to advise the Public Relations Department on matters relating to the directions of, changes in, and needs of the industry and curriculum. Council members also help UF students succeed in the public relations and marketing field. Spechler will serve a three-year term.
Spechler received her B.S. in journalism and public relations from the University of Florida. This summer, she will receive her M.A. from NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition to the UF Advisory Council, she serves as membership chair of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Greater Fort Lauderdale Chapter, an industry organization she has been active in for more than 25 years. She also serves on the events committee of the local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
