NSU’s Baudhuin Preschool Offers Voluntary Prekindergarten Program

The Baudhuin Preschool at the Mailman Segal Center for Human Development is actively seeking to enroll children in its Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK). This high quality daily education program, is in session from August 20, 2012 to June 6, 2013.  The program is FREE for children born between 9/02/2007 – 9/01/2008. VPK children must be age eligible for kindergarten in September 2013, the year following VPK.

The VPK Program at the Baudhuin Preschool follows the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for four-year-olds. The standards identify what four-year-old children need to know and should be able to do in order to be prepared for kindergarten. The standards address the critical areas of  1) Physical Development,  2) Approaches to Learning, 3) Social and Emotional Development, 4) Language, 5) Communication and Emerging Literacy, 6) Cognitive Development and General Knowledge of Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Inquiry, Social Studies, and Creative Expression through the Arts.

Baudhuin VPK classroom teachers hold a Master’s degree and a Florida Teaching Certificate in the area of Prekindergarten/Primary Students. For more information on the program or to schedule a tour of the facilities, contact Tammy Gipp at 954-262-7100.
