NSU Assistant Dean Receives Global Award for Commitment to Integrated Community Care
Farzanna Haffizulla, M.D., FACP, FAMWA receives 2017 Global Award
Farzanna S. Haffizulla, M.D., FACP, FAMWA, assistant dean for community and global health for the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) College of Allopathic Medicine received the Global Award for “The Most Outstanding Advocate for Integrated Community Care in the World in 2017” at a ceremony in London on November 9, 2017.
According to the selection committee, “Dr. Haffizulla is the most outstanding exemplar of embracing change in fostering the fusion of traditional medicine with telemedicine/house calls and health education in the world in 2017.”

Now in their seventh year, the Global Awards focus on the most innovative, creative and trend-changing contributors in the care, IT innovation and medical tourism fields. Twenty-eight individuals and organizations were recognized in 2017.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive such a prestigious award on a global platform,” said Dr. Haffizulla. “Receiving this award in London takes me to a place to which I yearned to travel since my mother trained there as a nurse in her teenage years. She and many of my colleagues, friends and family continue to inspire and embolden me to evoke change that makes a positive impact on our global community. I am now thrilled to continue these efforts as we build an innovative new medical school focused on community and global engagement at Nova Southeastern University.”
