NSU’s 2012 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony, May 12
The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education, and the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship will jointly hold Nova Southeastern University’s 2012 Undergraduate Commencement ceremony.
Saturday, May 12
4:00 p.m.
BankAtlantic Center | Sunrise, Florida
Humanitarian Terry Waite will deliver the keynote talk at Commencement. In the 1980s, Waite garnered international recognition when, as a special envoy to the Archbishop of Canterbury, he successfully negotiated the release of hostages in Iran and Libya.
In 1987, while negotiating the release of hostages in Beirut, Waite was himself taken hostage and held in captivity for 1,763 days, almost all of which he spent in solitary confinement. Somehow Waite was able to return home harboring no resentment toward his captors. Waite now devotes most of his time to intercultural relations, conflict resolution, and humanitarian causes around the world.
On the eve of Commencement, graduating students, their families, and their friends are invited to attend the annual Baccalaureate Reception. The event is free and business attire is required.
Friday, May 11
6:00 p.m.
Don Taft University Center
The NSU community is invited and encouraged to attend as NSU celebrates and honors the achievements of its graduating students. Tickets are not required for admission to the Baccalaureate Reception as well as the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony.
