Nova Southeastern University Women's Basketball Kayla Wright

Nova Southeastern University Women’s Basketball Kayla Wright

Nova Southeastern University women’s basketball forward Kayla Wright and head coach LeAnn Freeland were both recognized in the postseason review edition of Women’s Division II Bulletin.

Wright (Jr., Lauderhill, Fla.) becomes the fourth Shark in as many years to be honored by the publication as she was chosen Third Team All-American. This comes on the heels of a season in which she was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, All-SSC First Team and First Team All-South Region by D2CCA.

Prior to this, other Sharks to have been honored include last season when Jasmine Wilkins was also Third Team; Taylor Buie (R-Jr., Puyallup, Wash.), honorable mention the year prior; and in 2012-13, Meixandra Porter was chosen as a Third Team member as well. Stephanie Sarosi was twice picked by the publication, as Third Team in 2008-09 and Fourth Team the year before.
