NSU Wellness Magazine Wins Prestigious Awards for Feature Writing and Design

Wellness Made Simple Managing Editor Ken Ma, M.B.A, holds a copy of the award-winning issue.

Nova Southeastern University’s wellness magazine, Wellness Made Simple, recently won two prestigious awards in an international writing competition. Marcela Sandigo, M.B.A, associate director of Campus Recreation  and Ken Ma, associate director of Public Affairs Ken Ma, M.B.A., serve as Managing Editors of the magazine.

The magazine won two Communicator Awards given by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. It won in two categories: Feature Writing, which won the Gold Communicator Award; and Interior Design, which won the Silver Communicator Award. These awards were based on the wellness magazine’s second issue, which came out in the Fall 2010.

The winning issue of Wellness Made Simple explores healthy eating and the six dimensions of wellness: social, occupational, spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional. It features stories that matter most to people in their quest to live a healthy lifestyle and experience the joy of wellness.

Special thanks to designer Randy McCafferty from NSU’s Office of Publications; freelance photographer Bob Eighmie; and all our gifted writers, who are students, faculty, and staff members at NSU. Their hard work helped make this award possible.
