NSU VP of Community and Governmental Affairs Assumes Presidency of a California Junior College
Larry Calderon, Ed.D., Nova Southeastern University’s vice president of community and governmental affairs, will be serving as interim president of Modesto Junior College (MJC) in California’s Central Valley in August. Calderon is working to bring MJC’s campus together in the face of painful and ongoing budget cuts. He will meet with community leaders and partner with area employers to dovetail education and needed job skills.
Calderon has been at NSU for the past five years. He is an expert in strategic planning and educational policy, who brings 35 years of experience. He is also a professor of education at NSU, beginning his duties in December 2006. Previous joining to NSU, Calderon served as President of Broward Community College, now known as Broward College, as well as being the president of other colleges in California.
Calderon plans to continue his duties at Nova, spending part of his time at the university. To read more about his latest endeavor, please click on this link to an article in the Modesto Bee.
