NSU to Provide Free Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Training

Disaster Staging Area

The Institute for Disaster and Emergency Preparedness (IDEP) in NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine invites all NSU students, faculty and staff to attend free hazmat training.

Training is funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) of the National Institutes of Health. The overarching goal of the hazardous materials worker health and safety training is to reduce injuries and death by providing engaging and interactive safety training for individuals responding to maritime disasters and emergencies that pose health and safety risks. This is a unique opportunity for participants to learn about health and safety, environmental protection, and protecting maritime life.  All participants will receive a certificate upon completion. Marine Response Training:

  • January 19 (8 hours)
  • January 19-20 (16 hours)
  • January 19-21 (24 hours)

Hazardous Materials Safety Courses:

  • January 25 (8 hours)
  • January 25-27 (24 hours)
  • January 25-29 (40 hours)
