Recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month: NSU to Host Screening of Documentary and Discussion, Oct. 23

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, please join the NSU’s Center for Psychological Studies (CPS) for a free screening of the award-winning documentary No Way Out But One at 2:00 and 5:30 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Q &A sessions will follow each screening with NSU’s nationally recognized subject matter experts, Lenore Walker, Ed.D., ABPP and Tara Jungersen, Ph.D., NCC, ACS.

This groundbreaking work of producer Garland Waller tells the story of an American woman accused of kidnapping her own children, who fled the country and became the first American woman to ever be granted asylum by the government of the Netherlands, due to domestic violence.

The screening will be held in the Knight Auditorium in the Carl De Santis Building on NSU’s main campus.  Those interested in attending must pre-register no later than Friday, October 18, 2013. Registration is done online at (http://tinyurl.com/NSUDVMonth).

The event is FREE and open to the South Florida Community. Free parking vouchers and directions will be emailed to those who pre-register by the above deadline.
