NSU to Host Multimedia Conference for Students, Nov. 1

The NSU Multimedia Conference for high school, community college, and NSU students will take place Saturday, November 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (registration opens at 8:00 a.m.) in the Carl DeSantis Building.

The goal of this event is to enhance students’ skills and knowledge and engage them to think critically about media issues.

This year’s event features media professionals from Teenlink, Miami Marlins, WSVN-TV, Redline Media Group, WTV-J NBC6, Ocean Drive Magazine, Sun-Sentinel, Miami Herald, Panther Parkway, Mega 94.9 FM, WEDR 99 Jamz, Sun Coast Press, NSU and more. Workshop topics include fashion blogging, improving your on air performance, writing for broadcast, social media in professional sports, what to expect working at a television network, how to find a job or internship, media ethics, radio’s place in the new world, and much more. The final session will provide an opportunity for students to hear from media professionals and ask them questions.

The event is free and open to high school, community college, and NSU students. A continental breakfast and lunch will be available. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and sessions begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
