NSU to Host Final Leg of Lauren Book’s Walk in My Shoes Event
NSU is the host site of the final leg of Lauren Book’s Walk in My Shoes journey. For the past six years, Lauren Book has been walking 500 miles from Miami to Tallahassee to bring awareness to the issue of sexual abuse of children. This year, the journey has been reversed and the final leg of the walk will begin at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library on the Fort Lauderdale-Davie campus. The 17.5 mile walk will begin at 9:30 a.m., with registration starting at 7 a.m. on the Library Quad.
The walk will also be the launch of Lauren’s Kids’ Guide to Hope and Healing: a first-of-its-kind resource for families who are dealing with the aftermath of a child’s disclosure of sexual abuse.
For more information, please visit Lauren Kid’s website; or contact Denise Crammer-Turner at 954-262-5745 or via e-mail (crammerd@nova.edu).
