NSU to Host Discussion on Puerto Rico’s Political and Legal Status

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE Fla. —- The former governor of Puerto Rico will be among the panelists for a discussion on the political and legal status of Puerto Rico to be held on May 31 at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center.

The panelists will engage in a spirited and academic discussion and exchange of views on the possibilities to resolve the 110-year old political status of Puerto Rico. Panelists will include:

  • Dr. Pedro Roselló, former two-term governor of Puerto Rico (1992-2000)
  • Christina Duffy , professor of law, Burnett, N.Y., Columbia Law School
  • Ediberto Román, associate dean and professor of law at Florida International University
  • Anthony Suarez, Esq., former state representative of the Florida legislature and professor of law at Barry University.

The panel discussion, held by the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida, will begin at 3 p.m. at the Law Center on NSU’s main campus at 3301 College Ave. in Davie.
