NSU to Host Chemical Sciences Symposium, April 2

Tri-county students from the high school through doctorate levels will participate in a poster competition at the Health Professions Division’s Hull Auditorium on Saturday, April 2, as part of a Chemical Sciences Symposium. The event will be co-hosted by NSU’s College of Medical Sciences and the South Florida section of the American Chemical Society.

The theme of the day-long event is “Vitamin B Coenzymes and Clinical Relevance.” Symposium coordinator K. V. Venkatachalam, Ph.D., professor of biochemistry, College of Medical Sciences, will welcome participants and speak on, “The Role of Vitamin B Coenzymes in Enzyme Catalysis.” College of Pharmacy professors Richard C. Deth, Ph.D., and Malav Trivedi, Ph.D., also will be presenting. The symposium will conclude with an awards ceremony for student posters.
