NSU to Host Center for Homeland Defense and Security Faculty Member, Jan. 29

Stan Supinski, Ph.D.

Join NSU’s Institute for Disaster and Emergency Preparedness for an enriching presentation and lunch on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at noon. Stan Supinksi, Ph.D. will present, “Homeland Security: Reaching Maturity.” He will discuss key issues specific to integrating the broad variety of interagency factors and stakeholders involved in preparing for and responding to disasters and other emergencies. He will also focus on terrorist events, including how interagency collaboration has matured in the context of the Boston Marathon Bombing. Another highlight will be the role of academia in preparing current and future leaders in this exciting and growing discipline.

Stan Supinski, Ph.D., is the Deputy Director of Partnership Programs and faculty member for the Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security and an associate professor at the Long Island University, Homeland Security Management Institute. Supinksi is a retired U.S. Air Force officer and served as a professor of Russian at the U.S. Air Force Academy and an intelligence officer in various locations worldwide.

The event will take place in the Private Dining Room adjacent to the Health Professions Division cafeteria on the 1st floor of the Terry Building on NSU’s main Davie campus.
