NSU to host “Alien” Researcher to Discuss Exoplanets, April 21

verasThe Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography (HCNSO) will host a discussion entitled, “Extrasolar Planets” Famous Firsts, Boisterous Births and Destructive Deaths,” on Friday, April 21, 12:00 – 1:00 pm in the auditorium, Mailman-Hollywood Building on the Fort Lauderdale-Davie campus.

More than 3000 alien planets have now been discovered outside of our solar system. Their remarkable diversity highlights the uniqueness of our own planetary system. Dimitri Veras, Ph.D., a leading planet scientist at University of Warwick (UK), will review the state of the field of alien planets, including their potential lifeforms, their birth and deaths.

This free talk  is part of the Energy Sustainability Lecture Series of HCNSO, Department of Chemistry and Physics.
