NSU Tampa Partners with AT&T to Reach Area High School Students
NSU Tampa and the Employee Resource Group from AT&T recently partnered to host the HACEMOS (meaning “we do” or “we make” in Spanish) event. This event provides Latino/Hispanic students with the opportunity to engage one-on-one with community leaders. 24 Latino/Hispanic junior and seniors from a local high school were invited to campus to participate in the event. Volunteers included employees from AT&T, Jr. Achievement and Nova Southeastern University. The volunteers and speakers discussed technological history, promoted education and the importance of higher education. Assistant Directors Les Ross, April Fleming, and Michael Abraham shared an overview of:
- NSU history and impact in Florida & Puerto Rico
- Campus and student life
- NSU diversity
- Scholarships
