In an effort to show our ongoing support for the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, NSU students, faculty and staff have been responding to aid relief efforts and have raised $3,500 in relief funds to assist those affected by the tragedy.
NSU – through representative of its Office of International Affairs, the Nova International Student Association (NISA) and other campus groups – recently visited with the Consulate General of Japan in Miami to present the funds and talk about future collaborative efforts.
“I’m proud of the global perspective of our students and their call to action,” said Ray Ferrero, Jr., J.D., Chancellor of NSU. “Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the people of Japan and their country.”
Counselors are also still available from Henderson Student Counseling Center at NSU for any students impacted by this tragedy. Students can make an appointment by calling (954) 262-7050 or visiting www.nova.edu/healthcare/studentcounseling.html.
