Professional staff and graduate students from Nova Southeastern University

More than thirty professional staff and graduate students from Nova Southeastern University participated in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Florida Drive-In Conference, held at Florida Gulf Coast University (Fort Myers, FL) from Thursday, October 2nd to Saturday, October 4. Many were recognized for contributions related to the conference. Graduate students Nate Berger, Dani Durbala, Craig Johnson, and Lauren Soares facilitated a session entitled, “#AreYouTrending?” which focused on strategies related to a variety of social media platforms. Graduate students Serena Brown, Lorena Cabrera, Ale Matias, and Kaitlyn Priestley placed third in the Case Study Competition – the second consecutive year NSU’s team has placed in the competition. Graduate student Sean Ryan coordinated the inaugural Graduate Student Luncheon which provided an opportunity for seventy graduate students to connect with professional staff and share their experiences related to the field of higher education.

Two of NSU’s programs were also recognized as NASPA-Florida’s Programs of Distinction: the “Emerging Leaders Experience” submitted by Sean Ryan and the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement, and the “Undergraduate Student Success Fair” submitted by Shelia Fabius and the Office of Undergraduate Student Success.
