NSU Student Health Insurance Department Now Part of the Office of the University Bursar
The Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Student Health Insurance department transitioned to Enrollment and Student Services’ (ESS) Office of the University Bursar in June 2016. The department is responsible for charging the accounts of students who are enrolled in NSU programs that require their students to carry adequate health insurance coverage. Generally, this applies to most Health Professions Division (HPD) programs, all Traditional Undergraduate Day Students, all on-campus residential students, and full-time students in the J.D. Day program.
Students in mandatory programs will automatically be enrolled in the NSU Student Health Insurance Plan, and their account will be charged accordingly. If a student is insured in another insurance plan, he/she must opt out of the NSU Student Health Insurance Plan each academic year by the given deadline for his/her program. Students may also voluntarily enroll in the NSU Student Health Insurance plan.
NSU has partnered with student health insurance servicer, Academic Insurance Solutions (AIS), to provide student health insurance services to NSU students. The 2016-2017 NSU Student Health Insurance Plan is underwritten by Aetna Student Health. For more information, visit the Bursar’s website at http://www.nova.edu/bursar/health-insurance/index.html.
Students interested in obtaining student health insurance coverage through AIS may visit AIS at www.novastudentinsurance.com or call 888-544-5502.
