Marjory Lyons, M.S., Ph.D., dissertation chair for doctoral students at NSU’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services

Marjory Lyons, M.S., Ph.D., dissertation chair for doctoral students at NSU’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services, will be the featured speaker at the NSU Speaker’s Forum on Feb. 18. She will talk about her 20 years at NSU, still going strong.

Lyons joined the Fischler faculty as an adjunct professor in 1990. She continues today as chairperson of the dissertation committee for students pursuing their doctorates in organizational leadership. She has taught educational leadership and English; founded and edited a graduate student literary journal; wrote an online writing lab (OWL) in the mid-90s; and conducted the writing assessment of master degree students on main campus. She is also founder and president of Telling Your Story, Inc., a company specializing in producing books of life stories and business histories. She established the business in 2001 to help people tell their own stories.

The weekly NSU Speaker’s Forum, hosted by Calderon, takes place each Friday from 9 – 10:30 a.m. The audience is treated to a delicious hot breakfast and an opportunity to learn about the fascinating people that make NSU a great university. The  Speaker’s Forum will be held at the Horvitz Administration Building in the President’s Board Room, which is located on the second floor of the building.
