NSU Speaker’s Forum Hosted by Dr. Larry A. Calderon, May 13



Judith McKay, J.D., Ph.D., chair of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) and the Director of Community Resolution Services (CRS) at NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences.



Judith McKay, J.D., Ph.D., chair of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies (DMS) and the Director of Community Resolution Services (CRS) at NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, will be the featured speaker at the NSU Speaker’s Forum on Friday, May 13. She will talk about conflict resolution.

McKay has a B.A. in history from The American University; an M.A. in education with a specialty in student personnel services from Kean University; a J.D. from the School of Law at Emory University, where she received the ATLA Outstanding Student Litigator Award; and a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from NSU.

Since coming to NSU, Judith has been involved in three significant federal grants. Each grant was for a period of one to three years. Two of the grants were funded through the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice. Judith directed the VOICES Family Outreach Project, which assisted families struggling with conflict and violence. VOICES started as a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice (1997-1999), and continues as a service of CRS.

The weekly NSU Speaker’s Forum, hosted by Larry A. Calderon, Ed.D., NSU vice president for community and governmental relations, takes place every Friday from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. The audience is treated to a hot breakfast and an opportunity to learn about the fascinating people that make NSU a great university. The Speaker’s Forum is held on the second floor of the Horvitz Administration Building in the President’s Board Room.
