Michael Fields, M.B.A., Ph.D., dean of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, will be the featured speaker at the NSU Speaker’s Forum on Friday, Apr. 16. He will speak about the 4 to 6-year process to get the business school accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The dean will also talk about new initiatives, including a sales institute and an alternative degree program to focus on communication and sales.

Fields’ extensive academic and managerial background serves as a foundation that allows him to  provide vision and leadership to further the Huizenga School’s development of innovative educational programs, curriculum, and a diverse faculty and student body. Prior to being appointed dean of the Huizenga School, Fields served as dean of the College of Business Administration at Central Michigan University. Additionally, he previously was a member of the faculty at Missouri State University’s College of Business Administration, including serving as associate dean and director of the MBA program. He was also on the faculty at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte.

The weekly NSU Speaker’s Forum is sponsored by Larry Calderon, Ed.D, NSU’s vice president for community and governmental affairs. Taking place each Friday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., these forums allow speakers from across the university to talk about their latest programs, research, campus activities, and a vast array of topics from autism, to stem cells, to oceanography, to student radio station and media, to athletics.
