NSU to Serve as Host Site for Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention, June 9

3rd Annual Tri –County Conference

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 9th and join us for the Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention’s Suicide Prevention Conference. Registration and Continental Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. Seminars are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Terry Health Professions Building.

Invited to participate are physicians, nurses, therapists, teachers, police/EMS, and survivors of suicide, students and the general public. The conference is FREE to those not seeking professional credits and will be offered to others at $35.00 per credit.

Presenters will represent a variety of mental health professions including representatives from NSU:

Douglass Flemons, Ph.D. — Plenary Address

Ralph (Gene) Cash, Ph.D. — Suicide: A Preventable Tragedy

Cecilia F. Rokusek, Ed.D, R.D. — Elder Suicide: Issues & Challenges

Scott Poland, Ed.D. —  Youth Suicide Prevention

Tim Razza, Psy.D — Psychology Internship Program Director Institute for Child   and Family Health, Inc. at NSU
