What does Civil Rights mean in the 21st Century?: A Reclamation of the Proclamation presented by Delores Smiley, Ed.D., Executive Director of Diversity and Cultural Affairs at Abraham S. Fischler School of Education.
This presentation will take the participants on an historical journey using the Civil Rights Freeway. The road will include narrative stops at significant landmarks along the way. The road will also lead the participants into the 21st Century where current examples will be shared in order to discuss and compare then and now. The opportunity to engage everyone throughout the journey will help individuals make connections and perhaps define what roles are necessary to complete or continue the journey.
