NSU Series: Artist As Brand in Modern Art

March 26 at 6 – 7:30 pm

NSU Series: Jon Garon, J.D., Dean of the Shepard Broad Law Center, Commercializing the Digital Canvas: Artist as Brand in Modern Art

Crediting an artist’s work and protecting the integrity of work from being altered are historical bedrocks of artistic protections, but these protections have been diminished in recent years by the prevalence of digital art. Because of the ambiguity in laws, changes are needed to protect attribution and publicity rights to protect both the public and the artists. The talk highlights historical examples of attribution rights and the legal and artistic implications of the current laws. Free with Museum admission; free for Members, NSU students and faculty.

Please RSVP by email or 954-262-0204.
