NSU Rowing Brings Together New and Old at Alumnae Meet
Nova Southeastern rowing welcomed both current and former team members to its alumnae meet on Saturday, January 16, at the team’s home boat house at Holland Park in Hollywood, Florida.
The group took part in some friendly competition, pitting the alums against members of the existing squad in multiple four boat races. While there were no official times tallied, the alumnae were able to hold their own against the current Sharks.
“It was tremendous to see women from all eras of the program – back to our first year of existence – rowing together on our home waters,” said head coach Heather Barney. “Our alums were sharp and aggressive racers, just as they were in their time on the team. Most of all, we had a ton of fun and really enjoyed connecting our current rowers with those who came before them.”
