NSU Professor Presents at Baidu Forum of World AI Conference
Pankaj Maskara, Ph.D., CFA, Associate professor of finance at Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship was invited as the keynote speaker at the Baidu Forum of World AI Conference 2018 in Shanghai, China. He talked about the business opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence. He also recommended a path forward to possibly address the doomsday scenarios that have been promoted by the likes of Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk. Maskara’s views on the subject of AI were published by Harvard Business Review China in Dec 2018 while he was on another trip to China, this time invited to participate on a panel at the Tianfu Forum of Nobel Economists. He shared his views on FinTech innovation alongside Bengt Holmstrom, Nobel prize winner 2016 for Economics
Prof. Maskara is active in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation. He has founded and operated several businesses and is adviser / mentor / director to quite a few startups globally. Among other places, he presented his views at Southwest JaioTong University, one of the oldest and highly respected universities of China on the topic of innovation titled “Don’t think outside the box, break it.” His paper with the same title has been accepted for publication by Tsinghua Business Review of Tsinghua University, one of the top universities of China.
